10 Design Tips

Repair cellophane with clear tape
whenever possible.
This technique, which is smart and money saving rather than a
tightwad tactic, is shown in The
Gift Basket Design Book.
Trim the cello fan above your gift,
cutting it straight across or in a semi-circle.
Regular scissors are
appropriate, or choose pinking shears or craft scissors for an attractive
patterned design.
Give your cello a secure or soft
appearance by either 1) pulling it tightly around the gift or 2) creating loose
folds that resemble a balloon.
Create a smooth appearance around the
bottom edge of a cellophane-enclosed gift by placing clear tape on the edges and
pulling the extra cello to the underside.
This will fix cello that sags around your
completed gift or basket design.
Mask what's behind see-through wrapping
by placing tissue paper between the gift and cello.
Whether solid or
printed, which you'll see on this page, tissue paper adds a layer of
excitement before unwrapping.
You can also choose a patterned cello wrap that
doesn't require tissue masking, as
shown in this
pyramid-wrapped example.
