10 Design Tips
I've talked with casual gift makers and
professional designers, and both groups said the same thing - working with
cellophane was once a disaster, but now that they've become comfortable with the
wrap, it's a pleasure to place it around just about anything.
Here are 10 tips to make your interaction with
cellophane a great experience and dazzle the people who receive whatever you
wrap.
Choose
basket bags to enclose tote bags and other packages with a sturdy square or
rectangular shape.
An example is shown at left.
It's not difficult to close these shapes with
roll cello, but bags make the job quick and easy.
Top your gifts with fans made from
cellophane.
You'll see a
fan topper example at Ask The Gift Basket Expert, and a video will soon be
available at Gift Basket Video.
Fit printed cellophane tightly around
small gifts, and top it with a pretty bow or enhancement to add height.
You'll see a sample of snug cello on a
baby gift made with
diapers and a plush animal rattle at Retail Wraps.
Finish
gift baskets on the sides with a triangular closure to ensure that the cello
will not fall apart.
This technique is shown on the
Gift Basket Basics DVD and in
classes where students make their own
gift baskets.
Recycle old, torn, and dusty cellophane
by using it as filler material in the bottom of baskets and containers as a way
to elevate gift items.
