What is Cellophane?
Cellophane is a type of plastic material that
creates an attractive appearance around or outside of single or bundled gifts.
It is available in solid, print, and opaque
colors and wound around cardboard rolls for easy vertical or horizontal storage.
Cellophane is made in a variety of sizes,
including:
- 20 inches (width) x 100 inches (length)
- 30 inches x 100 inches
- 40 inches x 100 inches
Several manufacturers also make this popular
material in 500-inch lengths.
There was a time when cellophane was only
available on rolls, but because of the gift basket industry's expansion,
cellophane is now made in bag formats.
Basket bags, as they're known, are fused on
three sides so that gifts or a gift basket easily slides into the bag for fast
closure at the top. These bags are manufactured in numerous sizes in both solids
and prints.
